Attention passengers … Pardon me…
Before we delve any further into refocusing, rebuilding and rebuilding your goddess status, I’d like to interrupt your regularly scheduled programming … to divulge a couple of facts about the superhuman powers of a typical Goddess!
Fact #1: The goddesses were able to guide themselves seamlessly by tuning into their positive self-talk.
When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Is your reflection clear and confidant, or is it fractured and cracked? Looking in the mirror, on a regular basis, is so important to us as can reflect the relationship we have with ourselves. But we must remember to speak gently to ourselves too.
When I first joined the gym, it was daunting. I had to get used to staring at myself for long periods of time in the mirror, which was quite confronting. So, I tried to create some visual motivation, to get my spirit and confidence back on track.
Who do you want to become?
My question that often came up was, who did I want to become? Who did I want to embody on my new goddess training journey? So, I did some research.
In the classic fairytales, the Queens, Princesses and Maidens always looked to their reflections for life’s answers. But I wanted to hear it from myself. For my thoughts to tell me that I was growing to become brave, strong and courageous. To be … monumental even, like the female instructors teaching classes. I’d ask myself what qualities were so magnetic about them? And every time, I’d get the same answers: they reminded me of goddess warriors: beautiful, Amazonian beacons of confidence & strength. The way they stood. The way they looked at you with eternal wisdom. So, I decided I needed to start seeing myself this way. Like a goddess would have done in her daily ritual, I needed to start embracing my physicality too. I needed to start honouring myself – quick smart!
How?
By thinking some monumental thoughts!
Thinking monumental thoughts
When we think of a monument, we imagine a finished object set in gold or bronze metal, standing tall and strong in the sunlight. Sitting against the backdrop of a glimmering fountain, representing a hero or historical figure that deserves remembrance and respect. (Remember the deities in chapter 1? Oh goody, you’re listening!)
So, in everyday life, why shouldn’t you think of yourself as a statue worth being honoured: with the resolve of a warrior, ready and determined to conquer and challenge your body to feel as strong as a monumental human being?
Like the Statue Of Liberty, for instance – standing high above the New York Skyline. Is she not a beacon of strength, resilience and freedom? She stares out into the horizon, yes? At one with her truth and fighting spirit. She is there for a purpose.
And you are no different.
Think of yourself as a monument to build. A fortress to strengthen with a border to protect. You deserve to change and transform into your very best. To become your own masterpiece in the making, and your very own work of art.
How you build your monument is up to YOU. Start by picking up the stones of challenges, strengths, and perseverance, and start building yourself up again.
Fact #2: The goddesses were able to guide themselves seamlessly by tuning into their bodies.
Speaking of building yourself up, I’ll introduce my favourite three fitness programs, and how they sparkled up my goddess state-of-mind, and helped me rediscover my inner strengths again, and helped me tune these strengths into my body …
The Top 4 ways to Boost Your Goddess Spark
The Dancing Goddess
After a few months at the gym, a golden opportunity was laid before me. I had been enjoying a dance fitness program that was fun, slightly sexy, and very feminine. So much so, that I forgot I was exercising.
As I danced, I felt this light slowly turning on inside of me; as I felt my body whirling and twirling, I felt myself physically and mentally transforming. I started off feeling dispirited and depleted, but now this class was suddenly unleashing something alive in me: I was reigniting my own personal feminine spark. My speckles of self-worthiness. I was suddenly a dancing goddess: celebrating life and my femininity again!
The Zen Goddess
Yoga involves intense elements ranging from static to flowing physical movement. Yoga connects you back to your Mind, Body and Soul awareness. It is mixed with breathing, balance, and strength. Yogic poses can invigorate your spirit, and connect your brain to a place of wisdom, centeredness, stillness and peacefulness. We need Yoga to nurture our bodies from the inside, and to switch off our thoughts. Through the struggle of the moves, you eventually become strong and patient with yourself. Making peace with yourself on the inside, to then create space for you to flourish on the outside. Yoga also teaches us about life itself. It opens up the door to our love tanks, teaching us how to accept the struggles and challenges in life as well as the joyous moments. It may take years to perfect, but once you feel it and believe it inside yourself, you will seek its benefits always.
Ninja Goddess
Now so know what you are thinking. There’s no way you are going to stand up like a ninja goddess wearing gloves, amongst a sea of women, and as soon as the music turns on … punch and kick your way to oblivion! Not I, not ever, you say? Well, let me tell you an itty bitty secret- there is nothing more satisfying than picturing your worst enemy in front of you … as you punch their face in. As you push them out of your away. As you side-kick them where it counts with dj house music blaring in the background. Be a ninja goddess and be proud! Your husband will thank you for it later!
Oh! and before I forget … have some alone-time
Do you have a goddess lair? A nook that you can relax in at home, to meditate, journal or read in? Sometimes self-care requires a place togather your thoughts, especially when challenging stuff comes up. If you are in desperate need of quieting your mind, then chose a place in your house where no one sits, or get up at 5am a couple of mornings a week, to have some quiet coffee time with yourself. Alonetime is sacred, so make time for it
And now it’s time … to put all the goddess dancing, Yoga and ninja warrior training I did … into practise!
Ya da!
So let me ask you again!
a)Are you ready to feel alive within your own body? and
b) are you longing to feel sexy and desirable again outside the gym?
If so, methinks it’s time for you to adopt these little happy habits and tips to – build your Goddess presence!
After interviewing all kinds of women, I realised that having confidence was a universal want; a necessity to a woman’s self-worth to find her inner spark. To build this further, the first thing we women must understand is we all have the potential to carry a special kind of body language: called presence. We just need to water it to grow!
What is presence?
Presence is an energy that springs up from a person. It’s a look of confidence. A pop of effervescent charm, bursting with pride. It’s a certain posture, a certain walk, with shoulders back and head up high. It’s a feeling or vibration you get about a person. Some vibes are sparkly, some are icy. Some people just exude a certain presence that says: I care about myself. I love who I am. You can’t pinpoint exactly what having presence is. It’s an element someone carries that makes them stand out above everyone else in the room.
Having a confident presence is a sure-fire way to win that first impression; that first creative job; that first date. It’s your body unknowingly telling the other person that you are sure of yourself. It’s a built-in mechanism that shows your worth to others.
